Kenneth D. Rugeti

Mr. Rugeti has practiced in the field of forensic accounting for over 20 years and has testified as an expert witness in federal and state courts and arbitration.  After a successful career with some of the most respected accounting and financial firms, Ken established Rugeti & Associates to carry on the reputation for accuracy, integrity and top notch client service that he is known for.  This passion serves as the foundation of our Firm’s values, which are demonstrated by every member of our team.

While Ken frequently serves as a consultant or expert witness for a particular party to a dispute, he is often chosen by both sides to a case, either as a stipulated neutral or under Court-appointment as a §730 Expert or Referee.

Ken is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  He is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), for which he currently serves as a member of the Forensic Services Section Steering Committee.

Mr. Rugeti received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance Emphasis), magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California, and in doing so received the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award.

Kenny Pierce

Mr. Pierce, a Principal at Rugeti & Associates, has been a business appraiser and family law forensic accounting expert since 2003. He has been engaged on hundreds of complex, high net worth marital dissolutions and has been qualified as an expert and testified in California Superior Court in seven counties.

Mr. Pierce prides himself on being objective, an interpreter of complex financial data, and a creative problem-solver. He is regularly hired by attorneys as a party expert and he serves as a Court-appointed §730 expert. In these roles, he utilizes his accounting and analytical skills to communicate financial information clearly and concisely in a courtroom setting.

Mr. Pierce is also committed to facilitating the mediation and collaborative law processes by remaining neutral and empowering parties with objective analysis to help them make decisions together.

Mr. Pierce earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine. He also earned his Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) specializing in Matrimonial Litigation certifications from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Mr. Pierce is a member of the CalCPA Forensic Services Section and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California.

Mr. Pierce has presented on a variety of family law topics for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists (ACFLS), National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California, and numerous local bar associations.

Evan W. Kilbourne

Mr. Kilbourne is a Manager, focusing his skills on development of clear and accurate analyses for our clients. Prior to joining Rugeti & Associates, Evan worked for a well-known international accounting firm in the advisory services practice, where he assisted clients ranging from small private businesses to large public companies. While completing his education, Evan assisted parties with low-income taxpayer controversy and facilitated a business statistics workshop for students at his university. Evan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is also Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He is a member of the AICPA and actively involved with the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), both as a member and as chair of the Forensic Services Section of the Orange County/Long Beach chapter. He earned his M.S. in Financial Accounting, with distinction honors, from Cal Poly SLO University. Evan also holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting Concentration), cum laude, from Cal Poly.

Ryan Kalaf

After gaining his foundational experience with a Big Four accounting firm, Ryan joined Rugeti & Associates in pursuit of a career in forensic accounting. As a Senior Consultant, he is involved in all aspects of furthering the Firm’s vision of accurate, objective analyses for its clients. Ryan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). He actively contributes to the Firm’s Forensic Services leadership roles with both the local CalCPA chapter and statewide Steering Committee.

Ryan earned his Master of Accounting from the University of Southern California’s Leventhal School of Accounting. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics, cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine.

Tammy Horio

Ms. Horio is our Office Manager, providing administrative and client support for Rugeti & Associates and ensuring that daily operations run smoothly.

Tammy earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona and was the president of the Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society. She worked for a leading provider of global management and consulting for ten years as a quality assurance project manager on multiple financial services client engagements.
